Founded by Prakash Sonthalia in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, in 2016, Punah Hariyali is transforming urban landscapes through native plantations, ecological restoration, and community action—fighting climate change and inspiring every citizen to become a guardian of nature.

Established Trees. Measurable Impact. Lasting Change.

Punah Hariyali explicitly plants established 4-to-5-year-old trees weighing 50 kg, highlighting a massive competitive advantage: zero survival-lag and immediate environmental impact.

Unlike standard restoration projects that plant fragile, gram-weight saplings with high mortality rates, your organization jumps straight into a functioning ecosystem. Scientifically, about 50% of a tree's total living weight is water. Of the remaining 25 kg of dry biomass, 50% is pure carbon (12.5 kg). When converted to the weight of atmospheric CO2 originally pulled from the air (multiplying by 3.67), each tree has already permanently locked away 45.8 kg of CO2.

Across 30,000 trees, Punah Hariyali's afforestation efforts already safely store 1,375 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2).

OUR INITIATIVES

What We Do

Rebuilding Nature Together.

We bring together all citizens for a lasting change to nurture every tree, we turn green action into a shared, lifelong commitment. Nurture nature, and nature nurtures us all.

Native Trees, Lasting Impact.

We plant indigenous, shade-giving, and oxygen-rich trees that strengthen biodiversity, improve air quality, and help restore ecological balance for future generations

Plant. Protect. Prosper.

Every tree which is 4-5 years old and weighs 50 kgs. is entrusted to local residents and community partners, ensuring long-term care, higher survival rates, and a shared commitment to a greener future.

ABOUT US

Creating Outside Living Spaces With TREES

PUNAH HARIYALI is a community-driven environmental movement creating greener, healthier, and more sustainable urban spaces. Through native tree plantation, urban afforestation, and community participation, we restore green cover while inspiring people to protect and nurture every sapling.

By bringing together citizens, businesses, institutions, and young volunteers, we turn tree plantation into a shared responsibility—contributing to cleaner air, biodiversity, climate resilience, and sustainable cities.

Plant today. Nurture tomorrow. Grow a greener future.
